Writing Guidelines
Referencing Information
Below you can find Rewind’s style guide. Our style guide sets out what we expect your articles to be like in terms of tone, structure and layout. For each section, we have noted some useful tips that will make the editing process go smoothly and make your job as the author easier.

-
Tone: informative, engaging, and authoritative. Accessible to a general audience while maintaining academic rigour.
-
Structure: well defined sections, each addressing a specific section of your piece. Your piece should be between 750-900 words.
-
Headings and Subheadings: your title should be concise and direct. Subheadings should be used to break up text where necessary and guide the reader through your article.
-
References and Bibliography: please place a list of sources at the end of your article, you do not need to provide in-text citations.
-
Images and Graphs: during editing, we will add relevant images to your article, however if you have specific images or graphs you wish to use, please place them in your document where you would like them to be following publication. For graphs and charts, please ensure they are detailed, easy to read and relevant to your piece.
-
Formatting: ensure you have short paragraphs that are focused and use line breaks to distinguish these paragraphs.
Below you can find information on sources and referencing. Your piece does not need in-text citations. Instead, please ensure there is a section at the end of the document titled 'Bibliography'. This should be separated into 'Primary Sources' and 'Secondary Sources'
